We had the opportunity to try the NEW The Elf on a Shelf menu at IHOP. We love IHOP. Our family is a big fan of their holiday menus, so naturally, we were very excited to head over to review. First of all, KIDS EAT FREE!! Yes, Kids eat free everyday from 4-10pm. One FREE kids entree with each adult entree purchase. It's a super awesome holiday deal!! This amazing promo will run til the end of the year along with the limited edition menu. Which consists of Jolly Cakes, Oh What Funnel Cakes, Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate, Little Elves Combo and the Holiday Ham and Sausage Omelette. (More info on promotion, drinks are not included. After we were seated by a very helpful IHOP employee, we ordered our drinks. Of course we had to order the Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate. It is SOOO good. And when I say SOOO good, I really, really mean it. It is one of BEST holiday hot chocolates I have ever had. It's not overly sweet either. It's just right. And it makes the perfect warm up on a cold day. The Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate is a rich hot chocolate flavored with a toasted marshmallow syrup. Topped with whipped topping and shiny elf sprinkles, that resemble elf sized ornaments. I highly recommend. My daughter polished off hers in no time.
I added the Oh What Funnel Cakes to my meal, and WOW!! I felt like I was at a carnival. This is an absolute AMAZING funnel cake. It is a perfectly golden funnel cake. Which is also crispy. Dusted with powdered sugar and topped with whipped topping and glazed strawberries. Garnished with those cute elf sized sprinkles. Which are very shiny and ornate and taste yummy. This photo says it all. It tastes as good as it looks.
My husband and Dad ordered the Holiday Ham and Sausage Omelette. This is a seriously heavy omelette. It's a great value. And they both enjoyed it! The Holiday Ham and Sausage Omelette is loaded with diced hame and sausage, fire roasted peppers and onions, hash browns and jack and cheddar cheese. Then it's topped off with more diced ham and sausage, cheddar cheese and white cheddar cheese sauce.
My daughter ordered the Little Elves Combo. It comes with your choice 1 Jolly Cake or Oh What Funnel Cake. 1 scrambled egg and 1 bacon and pork sausage. (My daughter doesn't like breakfast meats, so it's not on her plate.) The Jolly Cakes are fluffy green pancakes with sweet cream cheese icing. Topped off whipped topping and elf sprinkles. You can also order a kid sized Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate. She enjoyed her meal, and loved the festive Jolly Cakes.
